  • Formerly a 100% state-owned enterprise capitalized by the former Department of Finance and Administration of Soc Trang Provincial People’s Committee, the company was established on January 20, 1995, and began operations on February 3, 1996, specializing in processing frozen shrimp for export. On January 1, 2003, it was equitized and renamed Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company, trading under the name FIMEX VN. On December 7, 2006, FIMEX VN was officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange under the stock symbol FMC, and the state ownership currently reduced to under 3%.

  • The processing plants of FMC locates in the Phu Loi Ward, Can Tho city where benefits from proximity to major transportation routes, residential areas, and only 20-50 km far away from the key shrimp sources. Thus, it has favors in transporting materials and finished products as well as easily accessing to human resources and supporting future business expansion. Over three decades of development, FMC has established a solid foundation in major markets including Japan, the United States, and the European Union, and maintains a strong presence in South Korea and Australia. FMC's shrimp processing capabilities rank among the best in Vietnam, with products distributed through major restaurant chains and distribution systems. In 2008, FMC installed a vegetable factory named An San Foods Factory with a primary focus on the Japanese market. Main products include Kakiage, vegetable mix, sweet potato, okra, eggplant, paprika, etc. processed in various forms: steamed, fried, fresh, and combination products. Recognizing the growth of shrimp farming, in early 2015, FMC launched a new shrimp processing plant - which is now Tam An Seafood Factory - increasing total processing capacity by 60%. In late 2018, Tin An Seafood Factory commenced operations, specializing in breaded shrimp production.

  • FMC also owns 540 hectares of shrimp farms certified with BAP and ASC standards, offering customers the assurance of clean and sustainable shrimp sources. In 2024, FMC achieved sales of over USD 250 million, aiming to reach USD 300 million by 2026. Thanks to its efficient and consistent operations, the company has received national honors, including nine Government Emulation Flags, the title of Labor Hero, and First- and Second-Class Labor Orders. FMC is the only seafood enterprise to be recognized for five consecutive years (from 2020 to 2024) by VCCI and relevant authorities as a Sustainable Business in Vietnam.

  • As part of its development strategy, by 2030, FMC plans to expand its shrimp farming area by 1.5 times, leverage opportunities from free trade agreements to upgrade operation scale and enhance efficiency and position itself among the top two largest shrimp processors in Vietnam, while firmly pursuing a path of sustainable growth.
