The precursor was an enterprise with 100% of capital from Finance and Administration Board of the Communist’s Party- SocTrang branch, came into operation on February 03rd, 1996, specializing in processing frozen shrimps for export. On January 01st, 2003, the Business was privatized and had its name changed into Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company, tradename as “FIMEX VN”. From December 07th, 2006, FIMEX VN’s stocks are listed on HCMC Securities Trading Center with stock symbol as “FMC” and the capital owned by the Communist Party’s Office - Soc Trang branch is only 17.47%.
